Our client, a leading manufacturing company, is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join their team and drive improvements in plant and machine performance. Your Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Developing high-quality maintenance systems and processes to improve plant and machine performance.
  • Developing planned, scheduled preventative maintenance schedules for mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation (PLC) systems.
  • Formulating Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) to address maintenance issues promptly.
  • Collaborating with relevant departments to ensure improved availability of plant and machinery during production times.
  • Utilizing world-class fault-finding techniques and conduct failure root cause analysis to address maintenance challenges.
  • Designing and implementing effective preventative maintenance schedules aligned with production operations using internal ERP systems.
  • Identifying inefficiencies in current maintenance operations and implementing solutions for improvement.
  • Managing master data controller functions, including Asset Register administration and maintenance of equipment bill of materials (BOMs).
  • Performing data analysis on equipment downtime per area and equipment to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Ensuring comprehensive skill transfer and handover processes upon project completion.

Desired Experience & Qualifications:

  • Fitter and Turner or Mechanical Fitter Trade Test, Diploma, Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Advanced knowledge of Hydraulics and Pneumatics, Basic Condition Monitoring for Specialist Mechanical Artisans.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, with relevant experience in maintenance operations.
  • Troubleshooting experience on high-speed production machinery.
  • In-depth knowledge of problem-solving methods and Planned Maintenance processes.
  • Safety-conscious with a good understanding of SHEQ principles.
  • Very good knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 14000.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems and 11kV reticulation.
  • Excellent planning capabilities and ability to read and interpret drawings.
  • Understanding of the interface between electrical, instrumentation, and mechanical teams.
  • Proficiency in maintenance plan development.
  • Enjoy mentoring and training technical staff.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to handle conflict situations positively.
