Key Responsibilities
As the Financial Accountant, you will play a critical role in managing the company’s financial integrity and supporting growth through accurate reporting and robust controls:
- Prepare and process monthly financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Handle month-end and year-end close processes.
- Conduct budget vs. actual variance analysis.
- Support external audit processes and liaise with auditors.
- Ensure tax compliance, including VAT and other statutory returns.
- Assist management with forecasting, reporting, and ad hoc analysis.
- Contribute to the enhancement of financial controls and processes.
- Process accounts payable/receivable transactions where required.
- Support inventory and stock accounting, including reconciliations and cost of sales accuracy.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Completed SAIPA/SAICA articles or equivalent hands-on accounting experience.
- 3+ years’ accounting experience, preferably in FMCG, manufacturing, or similar.
- Strong working knowledge of IFRS and South African tax regulations.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Syspro, Sage, etc.) is advantageous.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
